Murillo erhielt viele aufträge vom orden , und dies ist ein solches gemälde . es zeigt den heiligen isidor von sevilla , nachdenklich eine große kopie der bibel lesen , goldener stab in der hand . Sie können die sorgfältige goldene stickerei auf dem sehen Saint’s kleid , und das kreuz, das an seinem hals hängt, sieht aus, als wäre es aus reinem gold . Dieses gemälde ist ein schönes beispiel für Murillo’s fähigkeit, eine realistische darzustellen , dennoch schmeichelhaftes bild des klerus , das ist einer der gründe, warum er als auftragskünstler so gefragt war .
